10 Years after I started this website, somebody else came up with a similar, yet different plan: a map which (when finished) should contain all ‘continental’ lodges, showing their cities, the rites they use, their grand lodges, their filiations and their gender policies, because this website is not just about mixed-gender Freemasonry. ‘Continental’ Freemasonry is sometimes called ‘progressive’, ‘liberal’, ‘adogmatic’ or ‘Latin’. Many organisations have ‘strayed from the path’ of ‘Anglo-Saxon’ (‘traditional’) Freemasonry by removing the obligation of faith (some lodges no longer use a Bible) and/or because they initiate women. The term “continental” was coined because this ‘second current within Freemasonry’ started on the European continent and is mostly strong in Belgium and France.

Where I had a lot of working even finding grand lodges of mixed gender and women-only Freemasonry world-wide, the aim of BlueLodge.eu is to list every individual ‘continental’ lodge, so not only is the scope bigger (it includes ‘continental’ men-only Freemasonry), but aims to locate each and every lodges, which are thousands upon thousands. Needless to say that help is welcome.
